Dave Ulmer

Certifications: CrossFit Level 2, USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, CrossFit Endurance, CrossFit Kids

After graduating from Bucknell University, where he played football all four years as a defensive linebacker, Dave found CrossFit. He has been active in the CrossFit community for almost 10 years. He found CrossFit in New York, initially following mainsite wods. He moved to Columbus in 2008 and eventually started competitively training at Rogue Gahanna in 2009. Dave is a 4 year Regional athlete, his highest placing being 6th. Dave has coached CrossFit for over 6 years in Columbus, helping hundreds of athletes in the area. Prior to opening CrossFit IPA, he has been head coach at two very large, well-established gyms. Daves provides a wealth of knowledge on mobility, strength training, general movement and individual modifications from his own personal experience and time coaching hundreds of individuals over in the past several years. 

 

Chelsea Ulmer

Certifications: CrossFit Level 1

Chelsea has been involved in sports the majority of her life. She was a collegiate lacrosse player and later became involved in runnning marathons; qualifying for the Boston Marathon in her last race. She has been involved in the CrossFit community for the past 6 years and has participated in the CrossFit Regionals each year. Chelsea is a two-time Central East Regional team athlete, a two-time Central East Individual athlete and a two time Central Region team Athlete. In 2015 Chelsea competed at the CrossFit Games on Team CrossFit Grandview, placing 8th overall. In addition to the knowledge she has obtained over the years, her drive and passion for the sport transfer over to her coaching.

 

Mitch Luallen

Certifications: CrossFit Level 1

Mitch practically grew up on the ice with a stick in his hands. But during his 14 years of ice hockey with the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets, there are very few sports or athletic endeavors he didn’t try during the off-season: from rock climbing to track & field, from soccer to coaching younger hockey players and everything in between. Once his ice hockey career ended, CrossFit was just a natural unknown to sink his teeth into. He instantly fell in love with the methodology. Mitch joined CrossFit IPA after graduating from Ohio State University. Through his years of youth ice hockey, he was exposed to nearly every type of sport-specific and athletic training, and even began writing his own programs in high school. Mitch has a breadth of experience to draw from to help anyone achieve their goals.

Elicia Scanlon

Certifications: CrossFit Level 1, Precision Nutrition

Elicia has a diverse athletic background ranging from competitive CrossFit, marathons, boxing, Krav Maga, and Olympic weightlifting. CrossFit has been her central method of training for several years and she is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Elicia is also Precision Nutrition Certified and can help clients with their weight loss goals. She is a true “Jill” of all trades and can attack your goals from all angles to achieve the body and the lifestyle that you desire.

Jim Kittle

Certifications: CrossFit Level 1, USAW-L1

Jim is a life long learner. He has been in athletics for most of his life and is passionate about finding new challenges and overcoming them. After finishing collegiate football Jim went back and forth between gyms until ultimately finding a solid challenge in Weightlifting and CrossFit. He looks forward to challenging himself and others to reach their fullest potential.

Aaron Shearer

Certifications: CrossFit Level 1

Aaron has always enjoyed being active and playing sports. The aspect he loves most is understanding strategy and technique in order to improve. Aaron found CrossFit when he started working at Rogue Fitness in 2015. The elements that he loves the most about CrossFit are it is accessible to every one through scaling, and the focus on trying to improve yourself everyday. Aaron loves to apply these principles every day to make better himself as an employee, coach, husband to his wife Amelia, and father to his two boys. When not training Aaron can be found programming websites, playing music or spectating all the sports.
